Three siblings think they have their hands on a pretty hot commodity.
Javier, Ruben and Adriana Mijangos and Jhonny Cruz, the founders of Habaneros Fresh Mexican Grill in Hilliard, are putting the finishing touches on their latest restaurant in Grandview Yard.
They also brought in a new partner for the new store: Juan Carlos Hernandez.
“It’s been a dream to come to this area,” Javier Mijangos said. “The community here, they don’t have the concept that we have.”
The interior is clean and modern, with a granite bar as the centerpiece of the dining room. Large picture windows, some retractable, surround most of the space.
The food is a mix of the familiar and new. Burritos, chimichangas, tostadas, tortas and street tacos with customary proteins: carnitas, chicken tinga, al pastor pork, steak and chorizo, to name a few.
Habaneros Fresh Mexican Grill is expected to open on July 18.
